Our Mission is to provide an end to end economic support for PWDs by providing them with both skill training as well as employment opportunities under a single umbrella.
“Vriddhi” is a training cum Production Centre managed and owned by differently-abled people. It is established as a Self Help Group [SHG] having all its 25 members from Persons with Disability (PwDs) including the person with intellectual disability and in this way, this is a kind of unique initiative that employs only PWDs for all its purposes.
Vriddhi was started on 2nd Jan 2018 with the support of the Department of Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities [SSEPD] in Odisha with the idea that “Clinical care” alone is not sufficient for the PWDs and it is required to have a comprehensive rehabilitation program including skill training with a guaranteed job to make them economically independent
We started Vriddhi with the products which can easily sell in the market. We also wanted to have the products which required skills rather than physical strength.
Vriddhi comprises of two parallel units – training, and production. A training unit was established for comprehensive training to the PWDs for natural handmade herbal soaps, gift items, and aesthetic materials. Experienced trainers (from all around India) are hired for the training program with required support from specialists of PwD.
The production center was developed with limited tools and equipment with “Easy to Learn” and “Safety for PwDs” as our utmost concerns. The trained people, based on their interest, can be transferred to the production unit as an employee or can start their own home-made business.a
